PDO Thread Face Lift in Richmond Hill Benefits of Thread Lifting

Getting a facelift surgery was once the sole technique to address issues caused by facial skin laxities, such as jowls and sagging cheeks. After all, while skin resurfacing procedures can help to restore some firmness, only a scalpel can effectively remove loose skin once it has developed.

However, while the approach of relying on injectable compounds and skin resurfacing until facelift surgery becomes necessary works for many patients, not everyone is ready or able to have surgery. If you fall into this category, you’ll be pleased to learn that a new technique called the thread lift has been created to bridge the gap between noninvasive facial rejuvenation and facelift surgery.

A thread lift is a technique that tightens and lifts your skin using a dissolvable suture. It’s a less invasive operation than a facelift, and it can usually be completed within 45 minutes without the need for a scalpel.

A biodegradable polyester suture is used in polydioxanone (PDO) thread lifts. They’re excellent for renewing your skin, while some newer thread lifts are more effective at raising sagging skin.

What Body Parts Can Be Treated With PDO Threads?

PDO threads can be used to treat both body and face skin. PDO Threads can be used on the face to improve the lips by reconstructing the lip’s border. It may be used to tighten the neck, raise the eyes, cheeks, and slack jowl skin, and even improve wrinkles around the eyes.

What distinguishes PDO threads from others?

PDO threads are one of three popular kinds of sutures used in thread lift treatments. Polylactic acid (PLA) and polycaprolactone are the other two kinds (PCA).

PDO threads have been employed in operations since the 1980s and are the oldest of the three. They’re constructed of a colorless polyester that degrades after around 6 months in your body.

The existence of these sutures in your skin causes fibroblasts, which are cells in your body that create collagen, to generate more. Collagen is a protein that provides structure and flexibility to your skin. One of the primary reasons for aging skin is the loss of collagen.

PDO threads are further classified into three types:

  • Mono threads made of PDO. Sutures that are smooth and stimulate collagen formation to help revitalize your skin.

  • Screw threads made of PDO. These are used to help restore volume to sunken areas of your skin and are made up of one or two interlaced threads.

  • Cog threads made of PDO. To offer support and raise areas of your face, these threads include barbs that latch onto your skin like miniature fishhooks.

What are the areas that can be treated?

The PDO thread lift has the advantage of being able to address practically all of your facial aesthetic issues. This non-invasive, adaptable, and long-lasting rejuvenation procedure is frequently used to address issues with:

Folds of the nasolabial folds

Around the lips, wrinkles

jowls/neck

Softening of the jawline

Area around the eyes

Eyebrows

Cheeks

Crows feel

Folds in the nasojugal region

This synergistic treatment is frequently used with Ultherapy for treating the lower face and cheeks. While dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid are excellent complementary procedures, we prefer to combine a PDO thread lift with neuromodulators.

How is the PDO Thread Lift Treatment carried out?

You’ll probably be told to stay away from alcohol and cigarettes for at least 5 days before your surgery, as well as anything else that might cause bleeding or bruising, for example, Advil, and omega-3 fatty acids green tea or extracts of green tea, ibuprofen, aspirin, etc. On the day of your treatment, your doctor will go through any potential issues and advise you on how to recuperate.

A topical anesthetic lotion is given to the patient’s skin for 30 minutes before the PDO Thread Lift operation begins. For anesthetic reasons, the operation region is next cleaned with alcohol. A little quantity of lidocaine is then injected into the skin to numb the region where the PDO Thread will be implanted. To lift and tighten the skin, the thread is placed just beneath the skin’s surface and fastened into the tissue. After that, any surplus thread is cut. Depending on the number of threads utilized, the total technique takes around 45 minutes.

BENEFIT OF A THREAD LIFE PROCEDURE

  1. ABSORPTION IS SAFE AND SLOW: Absorption might take up to a year depending on the type of threads used in your therapy. According to anecdotal evidence, most patients’ threads are absorbed within six to eight months. Once the threads have been absorbed, the effects might last anywhere from three months to two years. Overall, the effects of therapy are expected to persist between nine months and three years.

  2. THE RESULTS ARE IMMEDIATE: Immediately following the PDO Thread Lift surgery, there is generally a perceptible tightening and lifting effect. However, keep in mind that the complete benefits will be seen after two to three months when the new collagen stimulation begins. The PDO threads take around 6 months to dissolve, but the benefits can remain for up to two years if your skin’s collagen retains the lift.

  3. NON-INVASIVE: This therapy, unlike a typical facelift, is non-invasive. There will be no irritation, no swelling, redness, or other apparent indicators of the procedure. when you leave the clinic following your treatment. Furthermore, threads are only placed into the top layers of your skin. There aren’t many nerve endings there, thus therapy isn’t necessary. The purpose of the topical anesthetic is to keep you from experiencing any discomfort when the needles are placed. In fact, you can tell us if you don’t want any anesthesia to be administered throughout your treatment. Many patients dislike the sensation of having their face momentarily numbed and do not want to wait for the numbness to take effect.

  4. FAST RECOVERY: When you get standard facelift surgery, you may expect a lengthy recovery period that sometimes includes a great deal of discomfort that can continue for weeks. But with a thread life, this recovery is reduced. You are allowed to perform physical activities immediately after the treatment.

  5. IT CAN BE COMBINED WITH OTHER ANTI-AGING PROCEDURES: Thread Lift can be used in conjunction with dermal fillers to treat both sagging skin and volume loss caused by the aging process. This provides a comprehensive strategy to combat the indications of aging by boosting and correcting the look of sunken cheeks and drooping brows. Sagging jowls and neck regions can also be treated with other anti-aging techniques. Surgery is no longer the sole effective option to lift and revitalize sagging skin.
